It is a privilege to serve as the principal of Shrewsbury Elementary School, where we are committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and collaborative learning environment so every student can thrive. By cultivating strong partnerships among students, staff, and families, we create a community where every child feels valued, encouraged, and empowered to reach their full potential. Each day, we strive to inspire our students to embrace challenges, build confidence, and step into the future equipped with the knowledge and skills to succeed in an ever-evolving world.

We understand that parents and guardians play an important role in their child's educational growth and success, and we are committed to creating a collaborative atmosphere where your involvement is welcomed and encouraged. Dr. Van Vorst’s Background:

Dr. Van Vorst received his Bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Maryland, Master’s degrees from Adelphi University and Hunter College, and doctorate from Drexel University. Dr. Van Vorst has 20 years in public education. During this time, he served as a special education teacher in the New York City Department of Education, York City School District, and Shrewsbury Elementary School. He served as Assistant Principal at Shrewsbury Elementary School for eight years prior to becoming Principal.
